A Day Ahead Demand Schedule Strategy for Optimal Operation of Microgrid with Uncertainty

A microgrid energy management system (EMS) with several generation and storage units is crucial in attaining stable reliable operation. Optimal scheduling of resources EMS becomes arduous due to uncertainty the forecasting intermittent renewable sources, electricity pricing, load demand. However, demand response (DR) approaches operational benefits framework can be maximized. In order improve cost-effectiveness microgrid, a novel day-ahead strategy proposed for optimal allocation distributed generators environmental consideration. An incentive control-based program developed results. The uncertainties are handled using probability-based Hong’s 2 m approximation method. suggested approach uses metaheuristic genetic algorithm (GA) solve constrained convex problem determining shifting. Incentive pricing adapt shifting benefit customers utility operators. Two case studies grid-connected islanded modes studied assess strategy. Results indicate that technique reduces overall cost fitness by 12.28% 18.91% two cases, respectively. consistency parameters popular methods confirms effectiveness robustness method management.
